What's the book about? "This collection is as much about love and people in and out of relationships as it is about origins and the process of estrangement. Why am I reading the book? Coupled with his knowledge of classic Indian mythology, Persaud uses metaphors with a keen understanding of their limits as well as their ability to communicate complex emotional states. The tragedy of the Indian diaspora and the loss of vibrant histories are balanced only by his urbane wit and compassion.
