Happy Birthday Frank Collymore

Frank Collymore was not only a fine Caribbean artist in his own right, but he also played an important role in launching the careers of Derek Walcott, Kamau Brathwaite, George Lamming, Austin Clarke, and Edgar Mittelholzer (to name a few) through Bim and "Caribbean Voices".
I cannot imagine a Caribbean without these writers whose influence shaped modern Caribbean letters.
And all this by a man who had enough respect for his own work that he could promote the careeers of other writers and artists.
The Caribbean needs more Frank Collymores.
