New on TikTok: Sometimes you have to stop... Just to take it in. In the middle of a tour, a mission, a purpose— You breathe. You remember where you are. This is Jamaica. This is sacred ground. This is part of the story, too. Legacy isn’t just about what we teach. It’s about what we feel, what we remember, what we honor. #Motivation #Inspiration #BobMarleyMusic Captured during Jamaica’s Read Aloud Tour, this short reel is a reminder that legacy isn’t only about the lessons we give—it’s about the presence we hold. In the stillness, we honor the ground we walk on. Geoffrey Philp pauses in the middle of a purpose-driven tour to reflect on place, memory, and mission. This moment is Jamaica. This moment is story.

New on TikTok: Defiance and Resilience_ The Story of the Haitian Flag The Flag of Fire: Marcus Garvey on Haiti, Toussaint, and the Call to Freedom Script: Today we honor the Haitian flag—not as decoration, but as defiance. It rose from rebellion, from minds sharpened by purpose, and hands unwilling to bow. Marcus Garvey called Toussaint L’Ouverture a greater strategist than Napoleon and Washington. He praised Haiti as the first Black republic—proof that with discipline, vision, and faith, we could govern ourselves. But before Toussaint came Dutty Boukman, the Jamaican spark who lit the revolution’s fire. Haiti is not a symbol—it is a standard. A legacy. The cloth of warriors. So when that flag rises, let it remind you: This nation came from nothing but spirit and will. And it still stands. Because meaning, confidence, community, and tradition—when united—cannot be broken. If you liked this post, please share it. Haitian Flag Day isn’t just history—it’s the living proof of what we can build through discipline, vision, and unity. Garvey honored Toussaint. We raise the flag for them both. #HaitianFlagDay #MarcusGarveyQuote #ToussaintLouverture #BlackHistory #GarveyMindset #TheStoryOfMarcusGarvey

New on TikTok: If you liked this post, please share it. We’re reading Marcus Garvey across Jamaica—not just to teach history, but to raise confident, purpose-driven children. As part of Read Aloud 2025, and in partnership with Read Aloud and Give Back Jamaica, we’ve been visiting schools across the island—from Kingston to Portland—bringing My Name Is Marcus into classrooms and communities hungry for truth. We're not just telling children they matter. We’re showing them—through Garvey’s words, through books they can hold, and through voices that look and sound like theirs. And we’re encouraging parents and teachers to download GraphoGame, a free literacy app proven to boost reading skills. Because strong readers become strong leaders. This is how we build legacy. This is how we raise confident children. One story at a time. #ReadAloud2025 #ReadAloudAndGiveBackJamaica #GraphoGameJamaica #TheStoryOfMarcusGarvey #JamaicanParents#BobMarleyMusic

New on TikTok: Mother's Day at Devon House On Mother’s Day at Devon House in Kingston, I stood in the place where Jamaica’s past meets its future. The weight of Marcus Garvey’s legacy was everywhere—in the children hungry to learn, in the teachers carrying the burden of under-resourced classrooms, and in the quiet strength of Jamaican mothers. As I prepare to return to Miami, I carry a renewed vow: to keep Garvey’s name, message, and mission alive. Not on my watch will we forget who we are. This post honors the legacy, the struggle, and the hope rising in every Jamaican classroom and Caribbean home. Devon House, Mother’s Day, and a Promise to Marcus Garvey I’m standing in Devon House on Mother’s Day… where the past meets the future— and something in me feels both heavy… and hopeful. Tomorrow I return to Miami. It still feels strange calling it home. But maybe home is just where the mission continues. It’s been a hectic week. The children are hungry for knowledge— hungry for Marcus Garvey. And the teachers? Still under pressure. Still showing up. Still carrying too much with too little. There’s still poverty. But there’s also something else— hope. Today reminded me: I am not here by accident. And I make this vow— For as long as I have breath, the memory of Marcus Garvey will not fade. Not on my watch. #JamaicanParents #CaribbeanParents #BlackParents #MothersDayJamaica #bobmarleymusic

New on TikTok: Happy Mother's Day 2025 Share this post Marcus Garvey’s Tribute to His Mother: A Mother’s Day Message for Black Families Mothers are the first mirrors of our spirit. Before Marcus Garvey was a leader, He was a son. And the first hand he held— Was hers. Marcus Garvey said, “My mother was a sober and conscientious Christian— Too soft and good for the time in which she lived.” But that softness? It was strength wrapped in grace. But Garvey remembered. He carried her softness like armor. Her grace? It was his compass. The first lessons. The first prayers. The first light— All came from her. Happy Mother’s Day. To the women who love without limits, And who shape the world in silence and in strength. Follow @mynameismarcusgarvey for more Daily Garvey Wisdom. If you liked this post, please share it. This Mother’s Day, we remember the woman who shaped Marcus Garvey—the first teacher, the quiet strength, the unspoken foundation. Garvey’s words remind us that behind every legacy is a mother who never gave up. This tribute honors Black mothers, Jamaican women, and every woman who shapes the world in silence and strength. #JamaicanParents #CaribbeanParents #BlackParents #TheStoryOfMarcusGarvey #MarcusGarveyQuote #bobmarleymusic

New on TikTok: Marcus Garvey the Guide Share this post Teaching Purpose Through Marcus Garvey: Read Aloud Week in Portland, Jamaica We’re going to Portland today— to do what we’ve been doing all week across Jamaica for Read Aloud Week. We’re using the story of Marcus Garvey to teach the children that they were born with a purpose—on purpose. Garvey isn’t just a national hero who helped us gain independence. He’s also a source of inspiration. There’s a side of Garvey that’s rarely taught: Garvey the thinker. Garvey the guide—who shows us, as Black people, how to survive, how to rise, and how to lead with purpose. Because Garvey isn’t just history. He’s a living legacy. A reminder that even if you fall, you can rise. And even if you’ve been silenced, your voice still matters. That’s what I’ve been sharing on TikTok— and that’s what we’re bringing into the classroom today. Every child has a calling. A purpose only they can hear. Only they can answer. Only they can fulfill. And this journey begins with one word: Yes. Yes to your purpose. Yes to your power. Yes to the road ahead. Because that’s what heroes do— they don’t just make history— they invite us to become the best version of ourselves and to become part of something bigger than ourselves.
