A Celebration of Two Jamaican Icons

Miami, Florida (October 5, 2009). In commemoration of the awards to be bestowed on Ms. Norma Darby and the Hon. Mervyn Morris during National Heroes Day in Jamaica, the Friends of Norma Darby and Mervyn Morris, will be hosting A Celebration of Two Jamaican Icons at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Family on October 29, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to show our admiration for these two exceptional artists,” said Reverend Easton Lee of Episcopal Church of the Holy Family. “Norma Darby and Mervyn Morris represent the scholarship, passion, and commitment to calling that we should all strive to emulate.”


A Celebration of Two Jamaican Icons will feature readings by local writers, Malachi Smith, Donna Aza Weir Soley, and Geoffrey Philp, as well as performances by the Jamaica Folk Revue and Tallawah Band.
