Yes, finally. I stood in a long line this morning with anxious and happy people who look just like me. It was nice.

Note: Funny, your word verification letters are WRACE. Does this mean the we won the race? :)

I'm generally pretty cynical, but I've been so excited today at the possibilities...whatever happens, I'm am just so awestruck at how Obama has commanded the attention (and admiration) of the world. And I remain humbled by the sacrafices of our ancestors...Ashe

Stephen, I've been all the polling site all day... people who hadn't seen each other in YEARS were in the line hugging and greeting each other.
Good feeling.

Persistence... that's whate excites me so much...the possibilities.

Peace,
Geoffrey

A friend has just sent me these few words, and they embody my sentiment of hope. She said, "bravo les américains, il a fallu du temps, mais ils ont compris."

Bravo, Americans, it took time, but they've finally understood.

She's right. Congratulations to you, to Americans in general, and indeed to the world.

And we also dodged a bullet. I was so excited so excited but now all I feel is relief. Like... the decks are finally cleared, so we can actually start to work.

Rethabile, it certainly is a great day to be as James Brown used to sing, "Living in America!"

Zero, yeah, we dodged a bullet. I just couldn't imagine President McCain?

Blessings,
Geoffrey

And the possibility of a President Palin!

As someone said, who the heck would have been her VP? Joe the Plumber?
