New on TikTok: Lies About Marcus Garvey. What the Algorithm Gets Wrong About Marcus Garvey Marcus Garvey built ships—not to deport—but to empower. Yet AI, echoing decades of distortion, keeps repeating the lie that the Black Star Line was about mass repatriation. It wasn’t. Garvey’s vision was global Black trade, pride, and power. In this video, I correct one of the biggest myths about Garvey—using his own words and verified sources. AI bias is rewriting Black history—but not if we tell it right. So before you post about Marcus Garvey, check your facts—against what Garvey himself said. A lot of you have been spreading lies about Marcus Garvey. I don’t think it’s intentional. But it’s harmful—and it isn’t the truth. As someone who’s studied Garvey for over 20 years, let me tell you what the algorithm won’t. The Black Star Line was not about deporting all Black people to Africa. That’s false. That’s not what Garvey said—and it’s not what he built. In Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey, Volume 1, he said: “Some of you are no good here, and naturally you will be no good there.” That wasn’t about exile—it was about accountability. The Black Star Line was created to establish trade routes—Black ships, Black crews, Black commerce. In a 1920 editorial in the Negro World, Garvey wrote: “link the continents of Africa and America by trade and commerce, so that the millions of our people scattered throughout the world may be brought into close contact with the motherland.” That’s not repatriation—that’s Pan-African enterprise. But AI doesn’t check sources. It scrapes content, echoes bias, and spreads distortion. AI bias rewrites Black history—line by line, lie by lie. The truth about Marcus Garvey’s story—distorted for decades—is too important to be left to machines. So if you care about truth in telling the story of Marcus Garvey— Stop copying the algorithm, and check your facts. I do. And before you post anything about Marcus Garvey— Check your facts against what Garvey himself said. #AIBias #TheStoryOfMarcusGarvey #MarcusGarveyQuote #BlackHistoryMatters #BlackStarLine #PanAfricanism Marcus Garvey, Black Star Line, Pan-Africanism, AI bias and history, Black history education, Garvey quotes, Garvey speech, Negro World, Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey, historical misinformation, Black history TikTok, Garvey facts, correcting Black history, machine learning bias
