Mr. President (Version)

Mr. President, we know you're as cool as Morpheus in The Matrix
But the country is on fire, and there are things you need to fix.
I know you're gonna say, "There's only so much I can do."
But nothing I know ever started big—it started with just a few
Patriots who never worried what would happen next. They put people first,
Never gave into their fears. They had faith in us and never expected the worst.
So, call back Congress without any lawyer-like ifs, ands, or buts
And say, "We're gonna save the country and we're gonna begin with cuts
To weapon systems nobody wants. As far as I'm concerned, they're dead.
And from those cuts that I'm doing now, we're going to repair bridges and build roads.
Now this means that we're going to dip once more into the nation's credit card,
But if governors reject it, let high unemployment be their fault. It will be my reward
To see fathers and mothers supplying their family's needs, because we can't afford
To see one more child's hopes on change they thought would come."
Mr. President, we're tired of your speeches, you sound like the last one term bum.
Be bold now and become like the "reckless" father you were taught to despise
You could learn a little from him and learn to be wise.
