Technorati Survey: State of the Blogosphere

Although Technorati has had a few glitches in the past, it is still a valuable tool for many bloggers. The company is now conducting a survey to document the impact of blogging.

I’ve already taken the survey, why not add your voice to the the survey?

Technorati has been tracking the Blogosphere for the past several years through our State of the Blogosphere study. This year we have decided to expand our study from sheer size and characteristics of the Blogosphere in order to hear more from you, the bloggers. Nobody understands the impact that blogging has on society like you do so we want to hear your perspective.

Hi Geoffrey! I'm going to hop pver and take the survey in a minute. I've been with Technorati quite some time. Back in 2005, when I tagged a post on a relevant topic, T'rati picked it up and I was blessed with abundant hits. When T'rati began to count MySpace pages as blogs, that was the end. T'rati was proven inaccurate when it made headlines for ignoring the worlds undisputed # blogger, Chinese actress Xu Jinglei, who, 18 months later (when T'rati bowed to pressure and counted her blog in their top 100) debuted at #1 on T'rati's list.

If you take a look at "what's hot at technorati" which you thru one of my other blogs, you'll see what's usually hot on Technorati is either nonsense, garbage or porn.

Dave, I am a great fan of Technorati, and I hope others will follow your example.

I'm going on a month long vacation starting today and so this will have to be my public announcement.

I got this notice from Blogger on July 31, 2008:

"This blog has been locked due to possible Blogger Terms of Service violations. You may not publish new posts until your blog is reviewed and unlocked.

This blog will be deleted within 20 days unless you request a review.
Request Unlock Review"

Why this happened, I don't know.

But that my blog with so much work and that has become a resource for some, could be deleted by Google/ Blogger certainly gives one pause.

Peace,
Geoffrey

Geoffrey, I regularly see blogspot blogs that are XXX-rated, others that are spam, and others that are "copycat" blogs. I can't believe your blog has been targeted for destruction. You need to fight this, my friend! Please contact me should you need any help.

I will fight this, Dave. I will!
Thanks, my friend...
