"Out Of Many One People" Celebration Tm Returns To Jamaica, Queens

Jamaican FlagThe "Out Of Many One People" Celebration TM - a Caribbean interactive celebration – presented by jamroppo Productions, Inc., returns to Queens, New York, on Friday, August 3, 2007, at The Harvest Room, 90-40 160 th Street, Jamaica, Queens, NY 11432. Dubbed the "Caribbean freedom party", the event salutes Jamaica's and Trinidad & Tobago's August Independence and pays tribute to our African ancestors in commemorating the bicentennial of the abolition of the slave trade.

August is significant to celebrate a freedom party because of Emancipation widely recognized on August 1 and the Haitian revolt took place on August 22, 1791. Haiti is the first black republic in the world. Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago both gained Independence in August 1962 on August 6 and August 31; respectively. Caribbean independence, however, begun with the quest for freedom by the Maroons of Jamaica. The Maroons symbolize the inalienable human right to freedom and maintain their sovereignty from as early as 1739.

Described as a wholesome, interactive family fun event, the "Out Of Many One People" Celebration TM is sponsored by the Out Of Many One People online website for all things Jamaican, www.Jamaicans.com and Summer Isle. The Gate Prize is provided by Summer Isle and is 2 nights/3 days single occupancy stay at Smokeyvilla Guest House in upper St. Andrew, Jamaica . The package includes accommodation, airport pick up and return along with daily breakfast and dinner.

The Independence celebrations ticket price of $65.00 for adults is a 'steal of a deal' and is modeled on the all-inclusive concept of an open bar, mouth-watering Caribbean cuisine and entertainment. Folks will dance to Ulcha Culcha and live band and DJ Bandit at the controls with Festival songs and the latest in reggae, soca, hip hop and reggae's dancehall. There will be cultural presentations by Caribbean Cultural Theatre.

Notably this year is the jamroppo "Pickney Time"TM and tickets for children are $30.00. jamroppo "Pickney Time"TM is a Caribbean interactive play date and begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to come early so that their children can benefit from this segment which is dedicated to the youth of the Caribbean .

Artistic Director for the Independence event is Mark Kong Quee, a graduate of Edna Manley School of Visual Arts and is well-known for his extraordinary creativity in cuisine, fashion, and festival costumes. He has worked with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission on a number of Festivals.

jamroppo's signature event – a Caribbean Inter-Activity, "Out Of Many One People" Celebration TM is an annual event. Cathy Kleinhans, jamroppo's CEO, is a veteran in communications, television production and management, event planning and public relations. The mission of the company is to teach anyone who wants to learn about Caribbean culture, especially the children of Caribbean immigrants in the Diaspora. www.jamroppo.com

Earlier this year, jamroppo sponsored and presented the prize for the Most Cultural/Educational Entertainer of the year to reggae artiste, Luciano at the IRAWMA Reggae Awards held at the famous Apollo Theatre. Kleinhans described the experience as a thrill and honor to sponsor the category and to hand the prize to 'The Messenger'. According to her, "I've been listening to Luciano for years and one of my all-time favourite songs almost hymn is Luciano's powerful crystal clear voice as he belts out " Lord, give me strength…to face another day….give me strength O Jah!"

A Jamaican, Kleinhans explains that Jamaican culture and by extension the Caribbean's is a wealth of life lessons in both the tangibles and intangibles. "It's not only about our fantastic gift of music to the world – reggae or soca, our rhythmic dances and descriptive literature etc., it's also the way we socialize, our folklore – what we hand down from generation to generation, orally; the way we do business and most decidedly, our wonderful work ethics well known "inna fareen." She adds, "with a smile', as she flashes her playful Ms. Jamaica Best Smile.
